Kshitij Prasad, who was recently probed in Bollywood drugs nexus, has been taken under arrest. The news comes hours after filmmaker Karan Johar, of Dharma Productions, disassociates himself with the executive producer of Dharmatic Entertainment, stating that things did not materialize.
ANI confirmed the news of the arrest, sharing images of Kshitij and stating that he is being taken for COVID-19 test, which is a formality before arresting someone.
The agency had previously shared, "Dharma Productions executive producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad to be arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau soon, in connection with a drug probe. Formalities are being completed."
It has now confirmed the arrest, writing, "Narcotics Control Bureau officials take Kshitij Ravi Prasad for medical examination as a part of formalities before his arrest."
Here's the confirmation:
Karan Johar, in his statement, had mentioned, "Mr. Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (sister concern of Dharma Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialise."
He then added, "However, in the past few days, the media has resorted to distasteful, distorted and false allegations. I hope the members of the media would exercise restraint else I will be left with no option but to legally protect my rights against this baseless attack on me." The statement was released after NCB started investigating the viral video from Karan's party.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who had lodged a complaint against the video, also replied writing, "The case is not with @MumbaiPolice anymore which was starstruck by you @karanjohar. It’s NCB handling the case now. Your forged defence will not work. Get ready to face the music."
