We know Shahid Kapoor is serious about his fitness regime. His Instagram account is flooded with selfies from the gym and even pictures from outside the gym.
And now to take all the attention away from the controversies surrounding his ambitious film, Padmavati, the actor revealed the most challenging part of doing this royal saga.
In an interview to Mid-Day, Shahid revealed he lost 4 kilos in just 5 days for the role of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh. Like Seriously? Is it even possible?
Giving a vaild explanation for it, Shahid said the armour weighed something between 30-40 kilos and that's how, Shahid said "I lost four kilos in five days."
Well, that's not his only achievement. For his first ever period film, Shahid even gave his hundred percent to make the sword fighting scenes look real on screen. "Sword fighting is a very defined skill... We've done it in a very raw manner. As raw as it could get," Shahid said in the interview.
"I don't find physical challenges as challenging as I find understating the psyche of the character that you are meant to play and be true to him and be able to find all the layers in him." Shahid even said there wasn't much research to refer to and he followed Bhansali's vision to play the part to perfection. Shahid said, "I had to draw from my instinct and from what Sanjay sir had conceived in the script."
Banned in states like Gujarat, Bihar, MP and UP, Padmavati was initially planned to release on December 1st. After the release getting deferred, makers are trying their best to make peace with Rajput who feel the film is distorting their history and pride. Even Central Board of Film Certification is upset with team Padmavati after Bhansali decided to screen the film for certain section of media even before its certification.
The film stars Deepika Padukone in the lead role of Queen Padmini, Shahid Kapoor features as Rawal Ratan Singh, Rani Padmini's husband and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.
