Deepika Padukone has been following a set pattern in times of coronavirus lockdown, and the actress urged her fans to do the same. She said that developing a routine under lockdown is important in order to avoid anxiety, which is caused by uncertainity.
"The most basic thing [that people can do] is follow a routine. A lot of anxiety develops due to uncertainty; not knowing what is to come in the future. It is important to focus on the now, and one way to achieve that is by setting 11, daily, and weekly targets. Let's not avoid formulating a routine just because there's a curfew. Some people can cope with it. But, for most people, getting into a routine, like going to bed and waking up at a defined time, and setting up a dedicated work space and holding virtual [meetings], is important. Set a system and [become] disciplined," she told in an interview with the daily.
Deepika, who was seen talking to her doctor during her Instagram posts on things to do under home quarantine, asked her fans to do so too. She said that it provides two benefits, one being that they would be able to talk to someone and second being that they would get advice from a professional.
Admitting that she has changed her routine over the years too, Deepika stressed on the importance of staying active. "When I was young, and an athlete, I understood that I felt good [when I trained]. I always felt that correlation. Being physically active has a big role to play in my emotional well-being," adding that adequate nutrition, sleep, exercise and hydration works best for her. The actress also cited her own example and stated that she usually eats anything she desires if she is working out, but would be more cautious when she is unable to workout.
