Here's how much 'LoveYatri' made on Day 1

Salman Khan Films' 'LoveYatri', that marks the debut of Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, witnessed a 10 percent occupancy in the morning shows on Friday. Despite month-long promotions, the festive film failed to register a decent opening.

According to trade analyst Sumil Kadel, the movie collected Rs 1.80 crore (approximately) on Day 1 at the Indian box office. Exact figures are awaited.

The film faced stiff competition from Ayushmann Khurrana's 'AndhaDhun' and Tom Hardy-starrer 'Venom'. According to Box Office India report, Venom has not only affected the collections of this week's releases, but also 'Sui Dhaaga', which released last week. While both 'Loveyatri' and 'AndhaDhun' opened low, the former failed to pick up during the evening show as well.

Meena Iyer in her review for DNA gave 'LoveYatri' 2.5 stars out of five. "Debutant Aayush has definitely worked on his dance moves. He has a pleasing personality, but his act is one-dimensional. His co-actor, another newcomer, Warina, is someone to look out for. Her light-eyed, fair-skin, lithe form have definite appeal, as does her slightly nasal voice. She has the promise to become a future star because she handles the emotional scenes a tad better than Aayush, who needs to improve in the histrionics department," she wrote.

"However, the fault in LoveYatri lies with neither of the newcomers. It lies with the script that throws them together without infusing a combustible chemistry. While both are easy on the eye, they fail to ignite the screen," she concluded.
