Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi had an amazing opening on Friday with the occupancy of 20%. The film minted Rs 8.01 crore on its release day and it has gone on to become Kartik's biggest opener ever. The film opened to positive response and people are liking Kartik and Kriti's performances. This is the first outing of the duo together and their chemistry is something to watch out for.
It grew considerably well on the second-day too. The movie did good on its first Saturday by earning Rs 10.08 crore, thus minting a total of Rs 18.09 crore. Luka Chuppi was expected to cross the collections of Kartik's previous films Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.
The third day marked the movie's destiny in stone. Luka Chuppi positioned itself into the top 5 highest opening weekenders by earning Rs 14.04 crore, thus making it a total of Rs 32.13 crore. The business of the film doubled due to weekend.
Not just that, the half-holiday on Monday due to Mahashivratri helped the movie cross the 40 crore mark at the Box Office within four days of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the movie has collected about Rs 7.90 crore on Monday. The total collections for the film now is Rs 40.03 crore at the domestic market. Taran wrote, "#LukaChuppi is winning hearts and wooing BO... Makes most of the partial holiday [#Mahashivratri] on Day 4... Mon is at par with Fri... Will comfortably cross ₹ 50 cr in Week 1... Fri 8.01 cr, Sat 10.08 cr, Sun 14.04 cr, Mon 7.90 cr. Total: ₹ 40.03 cr. India biz."

The movie is expected to cross the 50 crore mark in its first week. After minting Rs 40 crore on its first extended weekend, Luka Chuppi is expected to rise upwards. Interestingly, the film got a bigger opening than Raazi, Stree and Badhaai Ho.
The romcom is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Apart from Kartik and Kriti, the film also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Vinay Pathak, Atul Srivastava and Alka Amin in pivotal roles. The movie might face tough competition from Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla, which releases on March 8.
