The coronavirus pandemic saw the entertainment industry come to standstill but due to the recent unlock phase, many films and TV shows have resumed shooting. Among the films that were preparing to resume shooting, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was also one, however, according to the latest development the upcoming schedule of the film that was supposed to be shot in Ladakh, has been cancelled due to ongoing tension between Indian and China in Galwan Valley.
Reports state that the makers are now planning to shoot that schedule in Kargil, which is expected to start in October. BollywoodLife quoted a report saying, "Given the current scenario, shooting in Ladakh is out of the question. So, Aamir, Advait, and the top brass at the studio are considering shifting the venue to Kargil. The final call will be taken in the coming weeks."
For the uninformed, Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump which was based on 1986's novel by the same name, written by Winston Groom. Forrest Gump starred Tom in the lead role along with Robert Wright and Gary Sinise. The movie received several accolades and was the biggest hit of that year. It also was the recipient of the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing.
Laal Singh Chaddha is written by Atul Kulkarni and is directed by Secret Superstar helmer Advait Chandan. We sure are excited to see Aamir in a completely different avatar, especially after he released the first look from the film in November last year.
