Manikarnika: Kangana Ranaut unveils the second poster on Rani Laxmi Bai's 160th death anniversary

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is expected to release in August, this year

The new poster of Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' pays tribute to Rani Laxmi Bai on her 160th death anniversary. The official Instagram account of Kangana Ranaut's team shared the new poster and wrote, "Remembering one of the bravest women that ever lived, #RaniLaxmiBai #Repost if you can't wait to witness her epic story on screen #KanganaRanaut as #Manikarnika. #deathanniversary #tribute #martyr #Queen #warrior #history."

Initially slated for an April release, Manikarnika is now expected to come out in August. The film is directed by Krish and has been co-written by Prasoon Joshi and Baahubali fame KV Vijayendra Prasad. The period drama also features Atul Kulkarni in a pivotal role as Tatya Tope, Sonu Sood as Sadashiv and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkarbai.

Producer Kamal Jain also took to Twitter to pay his tribute to Rani Lakshmibai. “Our Salute to Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi who fell today to rise as one of the tallest Hero, our country has ever known ..@KanganaFanClub;@prasoonjoshi_ @Shankar_Live @DirKrish @EhsaanNoorani @loy_mendonsa @anky1912 @SonuSood,” he wrote.

Kangana Ranaut is yet to finish some work on Manikarnika. She is currently shooting for Menta Hai Kya in London.
