Aditya Roy Kapur is the son of Kumud Roy Kapur, and a Jewish mother Salome Aaron. His grandfather, Raghupat Roy Kapur, was a film producer in the early 1940s. He has two brothers, Siddharth Roy Kapur, who is a popular film producer, and Kunal Roy Kapur, who is also an actor. Aditya is the youngest sibling.
He started his career as a VJ at Channel V India, where his comic timing and "unique style of hosting" was appreciated. Later, he made his Bollywood debut as a supporting actor in Salman Khan's London Dreams which also starred Ajay Devgn and Asin Thottumkal in key roles. The film failed to perform well at the box office. Later, he also starred in Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Action Replayy which also failed to perform at the box office. He will next be seen in Anurag Basu's Metro… In Dino alongside Sara Ali Khan. The film also stars Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, and Ali Fazal along with others, and is scheduled to release this year.
