Today we will discuss an actor, a star kid, who made an impressive start in Bollywood. After delivering a few hits, the actor's career started declining. The offers were getting reduced, and he was losing himself to alcohol. He was jobless for many years, but with the help of one true friend, he bounced back, and now he has become one of the busiest pan-India actors.

The actor who battled alcoholism, and was jobless for years is...

Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol's younger brother, and veteran actor Dharmendra's son has a remarkable journey. In the 1990s, Bobby made an impressive start with Barsaat (1995), followed by superhits Gupt (1997), Soldier (1999), Badal (2000), and Humraaz (2002). However, the actor started facing a decline in his career, and a few wrong choices dented his career (read: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Naqaab, and Chamku).

Except for two multi-starrer hits, Apne and Yamla Pagla Deewana, which was loved because of the Deols trio, Bobby was out of filmmakers' sight. The Gupt star was jobless for many years, and he himself confessed about it. To deal with failure, Bobby took the support of alcohol, and soon he became an alcoholic.

In an interview with HuffPost, Bobby discussed his battle with intoxication, and said, "Everybody loves their liquor but now, I am in a much, much better space. There was a time in my life when I was drinking every day of my life and not taking care of my health. Now, I drink very less."

Who helped Bobby in reviving his career?

Salman Khan decided to help Bobby Deol, and he offered him Race 3. For this film, Salman asked Bobby to adopt healthy living and focus on bodybuilding. Bobby took this opportunity seriously, and despite the film earning negative reviews, Bobby's comeback and his physique were appreciated. After Race 3, Bobby took up the role of the grey-shade godman in Prakash Jha's Asharam and it boosted his career further. Last year, Bobby was seen playing antogonist in Animal, and his career took off to whole new level. For Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Bobby reportedly charged Rs 4 crore for his 15-minute role.

Bobby Deol's upcoming projects

Bobby will soon be seen in pan-India projects, playing antogonist in Suriya Kanguva, Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Nandamuri Balakrishna's NBK109. As per several media reports, Bobby Deol's net worth is Rs 66 crores.
