Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan starrer Mission Mangal is still going strong at the ticket windows even after 14 days of its release. The movie which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menon along with Sharman Joshi, has managed to rake in a total of approx Rs 172.23 crore at the box office by the end of day 14.
As per a report on IndiaToday, Mission Mangal had managed to rake in a total of Rs 170 crore on Tuesday and it has earned a decent sum even on Wednesday. The film's has minted approx Rs 1/75 crore on Wednesday, which takes the overall total to approx Rs 172.23 crore. The movie is now eyeing the coveted Rs 200 crore mark at the box office.
Mission Mangal marks the 10th hit film in a row for Akshay Kumar. The film has not only given Akshay his biggerst opener, but it has also become the highest opener for it's leading ladies including Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menon
The film has also become Akshay's second fastest movie to cross the Rs 150 crore mark at the box office. The Jagan Shakti directorial is now the fourth highest grosser of the year so far. Mission Mangal is based on ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission and the ladies behind the same. The film has even been declared tax free in Maharshtra recently.
