After its bumper success last year, National Cinema Day is back in 2023. The one-day extravaganza organised by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) as well as the leading cinema chains is aimed at making the movie-watching experience more accessible with tickets priced at a flat Rs 99 across cinema halls in the country. On Thursday, the MAI shared details about this year’s edition of the National Cinema Day.

Which films are likely to benefit?
The weekend of October 13 does not have a major release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu or other languages. But a few releases from earlier weeks are likely to be still going strong. The biggest among them is Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War, which releases on September 28, alongside Fukrey 3. Akshay Kumar’s Mission Raniganj will also benefit, having released on October 6. Muttiah Muralitharan’s Tamil biopic 800 is also releasing on the same day, as is Vijay Antony’s Raththam.
