Meanwhile, on Friday, Navya Naveli Nanda gave a shout-out to rumoured beau Meezaan Jaffrey for winning an award for best debut for 'Malal'.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda is making headlines yet again. This time, the aspiring young entrepreneur, who recently launched a new initiative towards women empowerment in India, is in news for aptly giving it back to a troll who tried to be judgemental and pass mean comments at her on social media.

Navya, who launched 'Project Naveli' earlier this month has been garnering a lot of praise online for her efforts towards women empowerment and raising awareness and making strides towards bringing about gender equality in Indian states. However, the youngster also faced some mean comments on social media for it.

In an Instagram post shared on the initiative's official page, Navya is quoted as saying, "Through Project Naveli, I hope to bridge the gender gap in India by providing women with access to resources & opportunities that will allow for economic and social empowerment."

While as section of netizens lauded her efforts, some others resorted to unkind words and left a few unpleasant comments on the post. One person wrote, "Seriously India??? Lol first provide access opportunity to at least one district of Maharashtra then talk about India simply using India name."

Navya took the comment positively and replied, "Sure! Thank you for the positivity & support."

Another social media user wrote, "You first need a job, then you can do all this." This time again Navya gave a firm and confident reply. She wrote, "I do have a job actually." She followed it up with a heart emoji.

For the unversed, Navya is the co-founder of Aara Health, an online platform for women to discuss health issues.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Navya Naveli Nanda gave a shout-out to rumoured beau Meezaan Jaffrey, senior actor Jaaved Jaffrey's son, who won an award for best debut.

On Friday, taking to her Instagram Stories, Navya shared a photo of Meezaan happily posing with his trophy and a certificate of recognition. "Congratulations!!!" she wrote alongside the photo.

For the uninformed, Meezaan made his debut in 2019 film 'Malal' directed by Mangesh Hadawale and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Krishan Kumar. The film is a remake of the Tamil film '7G Rainbow Colony'. It also marked the debut of filmmaker-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece, Sharmin Segal.

As far as Navya and Meezaan's relationship is concerned, the two have always maintained in interviews that they are nothing more than just 'good friends'.

During an interview with Zoom, Meezaan had said, "Why will I admit it when there is no relationship?," when he was asked, when will he admit to be dating Navya.

“There is no relationship, okay? We're friends. Friends ka bhi ek relationship hota hai (friendship is also a relationship). It's not a boyfriend-girlfriend dating relationship. Just cause we get papped outside a theatre leaving with friends, by the way, that doesn't mean, 'Oh, we're dating," he added.

On the work front, Meezaan is shooting 'Hungama 2', directed by Priyadarshan.
