Neetu Kapoor on Saturday (September 1) celebrated her late husband and actor Rishi Kapoor's 69th birth anniversary with full fanfare in the presence of her close family and friends. Neetu took her Instagram stories and shared a picture of herself without a life-sizes cutout of Rishi Kapoor. She was standing with filmmaker Rumy Jafry and his wife Hanan Jafry.
In the photo, Neetu can be seen smiling with a blue top as she held Rishi’s cut out close to her. While sharing the snap she wrote, “Thank you @hananjafry @rumyjaffery for celebrating his birthday you both are all HEART.” Have a look at the photo here:
Neetu also shared a photo frame with a white boundary which had “celebrating Chituji” written on a pink background. The setup was decorated with flowers, candles and leaves.
Along with it, she also shared an adorable birthday cake that had a guitar, the Twitter logo, a bowl of chicken legs, intense sticks, a jar and a miniature alcohol bottle on it.
Neetu then shared a video on her Instagram, where she stood along with her friends and a life-size cutout of Rishi Kapoor and sang ‘Happy birthday Chintu’. Fans reacted to the video and remembered the late actor. “Heartwarming,” wrote one user while another commented, “Infact I like it.yaar jo gaya uska bhi birthday mana rahe hai khush ho rahe hai..uski wife has rahi hai kya problem hai?”
Earlier on Saturday, Neetu shared a happy photo with Rishi and summed up some fond moments and gave fans an account of how they celebrated and stayed strong during the late actor’s treatment in New York.
Rishi, who was a legendary actor in Indian cinema, passed away on April 30, 2020, leaving a void in people’s hearts. Prior to his demise, he was in New York for his treatment with his Neetu. The couple got married on January 22, 1980, and share two children, Riddhima Kapoor Sahani and superstar Ranbir Kapoor.
The star couple featured together in films like ‘Zinda Dil’, ‘Khel Khel Mein’, ‘Amar Akbar and Anthony’, ‘Do Dooni Chaar', among several others. Rishi was last seen in the 2019 film ‘The Body’ alongside Emraan Hashmi and Shobita Dhulipala. Meanwhile, Neetu is gearing up for the release of her upcoming project ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’, co-starring Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. It would be her first project which she shot for post her husband’s demise.
