While promoting her upcoming actioner Akelli with ETimes, Nushrratt Bharuccha said that she's unaware of her replacement in Dream Girl 2, and said that there's no logic behind the decision. "I terribly miss working with them. But why they didn't cast me in Dream Girl 2, I think only they can answer. I don't know, there is no logic and there is no answer to it. But why didn't they cast me? I am a human being, so of course it hurts." Nushrratt further added that although she feels her replacement is 'unfair' but she respects makers' decisions, and has no problem with them.

Interestingly, Nushrratt will clash with Ayushmaan at the box office, as Akelli and Dream Girl 2 will release on the same day- August 24. Earlier, Akelli was scheduled for August 18 release, but the movie got postponed for a week due to some censor clearance issue. When Nushrratt was asked about the clash, she said, "I didn't know my film was going to be released on the same day as Dream Girl 2." She further added, "Raj (Shandaliya, director) sir reacted to my story and said, ‘All the best’. And I responded to him saying, ‘Sir, something is connected in our universe. I wasn't in your film, but my second film is releasing on the same day’. So we have come to a place where we can smile about it." Akelli and Dream Girl 2 will also have to face a clash with Dulquer Salmaan's King Of Kotha.
