Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu's film 'October' is getting love from the audience and it shows in its first week collections at the box office as well. Shoojit Sircar will which released on April 13th may not have been able to match upto money made by Varun's previous releases like 'Judwaa 2' or 'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya' but the film is doing decent business at the ticket window. The film which opened at theatres 5 crores earnings on Day one has managed to end the first week with 30.24 crores. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the details on Twitter and wrote, “#October is DECENT in Week 1. Biz was driven by multiplexes of major metros specifically. Weekend 2 is crucial, will give an idea of its lifetime biz. Fri Rs 5.04 crore, Sat Rs 7.47 crore, Sun Rs 7.74 crore, Mon Rs 2.70 crore, Tue Rs 2.61 crore, Wed Rs 2.43 crore, Thu Rs 2.25 crore. Total: Rs 30.24 crore. India biz.”
Film made on small budget of 30 crores got a limited release considering it's a niche subject. But thanks to Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi's beautiful storytelling and good word of tmouth publicity, October has managed to strike thr right chord among the audience. Not just cinegoers but even the critics have given a thumbs up to this Shoojit Sircar directorial. No wonder Varun is still in love with the character he played in the film and can't thank his fans enough for the response.
This Friday, Ishaan Khatter’s 'Beyond The Clouds' and Abhay Deol – Patralekhaa’s 'Nanu Ki Jaanu' has also release and only time will tell if October will be able to survive completition from the fresh releases.
