Ranveer Singh's portrayal of barbaric ruler Alauddin Khilji has earned him a lot of praise

After being embroiled in controversy for long, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat finally hit the theatres on January 25. While all three actors have earned tremendous praise for their acts in the film, it is Ranveer Singh's portrayal of barbaric ruler Alauddin Khilji that has earned maximum applauds.

Now praising Ranveer’s fabulous performance in his latest release Padmaavat, megastar Amitabh Bachchan sent a handwritten note to Ranveer. Overwhelmed by Big B’s kind gesture, Ranveer called the letter his ‘award’. He also took to Twitter to share the picture of the note and a bouquet Bachchan sent him after watching Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film.

"Mujhe mera award mil gaya (I have got my award) @SrBachchan," the actor captioned the tweet.

Amitabh Bachchan also praised Ranveer and sent a handwritten note in 2015, after he had watched Bajirao Mastani.

Featuring Deepika Padukone in the lead, Padmaavat also stars Shahid Kapoor, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Raza Murad. The film has managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark on day four and remains unbeatable as the collections saw an upward trend on Sunday.
