Pankaj Tripathi reacted to Censor Board's certification for OMG 2 and shared his disappointment about CBFC rating.

Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam-starrer OMG 2 will soon release in cinemas this Friday (August 11). passed with 27 cuts with an A (Adults Only) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).  The film focuses on the importance of sex education among teenagers with a gripping narrative of a middle-class family led by Pankaj.

While promoting the film with the media, Pankaj shared his reaction to the film certification and revealed that he was surprised and to some extent disappointed with the rating. "When we got an A certificate, we got surprised. This is because while making a film, hume pata chal jaata hai ki A certificate milega ya nahi, like Gangs Of Wasseypur. When we were making it, we knew that it will get an Adults Only certificate. However, when we were making OMG 2, we didn't think that it will get such a rating." Sharing his disappointment further he said, "Iss film ko A milna, surprise tha humare liye. Thoda malaal hua ki jis age-group ko yeh film dekhni chaiye, 12-17 saal ke, woh nahi dekh payenge (For me it was a surprise. I was a bit disappointed, as the target age group of 12-17 years old won't be able to see the film)."

Lauding the UAE 12+ Censor clearance, Pankaj suggested that there should be a category between U/A and A in CBFC. "I think we should have something between U/A and A category. Pankaj is hopeful that Censor Board will evolve. "Just like Censor has brought Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill into the act. Hopefully, they also bring a few changes in Censor certification." However, Pankaj clearly told, he has no issue with the certification and Board members, "Afsoos yehi hai ki jinko dekhni chaiye film, woh nahi dekh payenge. For the unversed, in Dubai, UAE, the film has been passed with a 12+ censor certificate with no cuts.
