Anil Kapoor was the producer for Kareena Kapoor Khan's comeback film 'Veere Di Wedding'

In the recent years, Bollywood actress came out and spoke about pay disparity in comparison to their male counterparts. During her latest interaction with Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan asked him about pay disparity on her show 'What Women Want', only to be stumped by his answer.

Anil told Kareena that she took a lot of money from him. He also went on to say that many actresses have done the same and he never had second thoughts about agreeing to their demands.

She said that a few Hollywood actors only agree to projects if their female counterparts receive an equal pay. When Kareena asked Anil if the culture should also be followed in Bollywood, he said, "You toh took a lot of money from me."

Bebo then mentioned, "We are breaking barriers, we are doing that. But like you said, there are still some people…"

Anil Kapoor, who was co-producer for 'Veere Di Wedding', recollected an incident when the producers called him up complaining about how Kareena demanded more money than the male leads too.

"Yaar, yeh toh hero se zyada paise maang rahi hai. Maine bola, De do (She is demanding more money than the hero. I said, Give it to her). They all called me up also, I said, Done. They were calling me when the negotiations were on. I said, Bebo jo maangegi, de do (Give Kareena what she wants)," Anil shared about the negotiation deal.

In fact, Anil said that Bollywood actresses have demanded more pay than actors many times. "There are so many films where the leading actress has taken more money and maine khushi khushi kiya (I did the films happily)," he recalled.

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor will work together in filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming film 'Takht'. The movie also stars Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and others.
