The preparations for the wedding of Nickyanka i.e Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have finally begun. The singer landed in the country yesterday. His lady love posted an adorable picture of them on her Instagram account and captioned it, ‘Welcome home baby’. And the social media couldn’t just stop gushing about it. The couple is all set to exchange vows on December 2 at the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur. A Christian wedding will also take place on December 3.
The family members of the groom will fly to India by the end of this week. The bride-to-be is expected to shoot for her upcoming film, 'The Sky is Pink' till the eve of her wedding. Mehendi and sangeet ceremonies will be held on November 29. Nick will perform on a medley of Bollywood and International numbers including Priyanka’s songs like, Desi Girl, Galla Goodiyaan, Pinga and will sing a song for her.
The bride and the groom have hired well-known Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Hegde for the sangeet ceremony. A cocktail party will be held on November 30 followed by the Haldi ceremony on December 1.
Much like DeepVeer (as Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are popularly called), PC too wants her wedding to be an intimate family affair.“Priyanka was sure that she wanted to get married somewhere in India. She, along with her mother Madhu Chopra, planned the entire itinerary for their guests. For the sangeet at the Mehrangarh Fort (on December 1) and the wedding (the next day) at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, PC has invited only her family members,” a source revealed to DNA After Hrs.
The source further added, “Priyanka has a huge extended family — her dad’s side being a big Punjabi one and her mom’s from Patna. PC has invited all her relatives to be part of her celebration because that’s how her dad (late Ashok Chopra) would have wanted it. So, for the nuptials, the invites have been strictly restricted to family members, along with a few of her closest friends who may or may not be from the industry.”
For one of the pre-wedding ceremonies, the jodi also plans to recreate their first official date. “Both Priyanka and Nick wanted to start the new journey of their lives with a fond memory. They want it exactly the way it was — from the ambience to the food and the setting. While the couple will solemnise their marriage on December 2 in Jodhpur, before one of the other ceremonies (mehendi or sangeet), they will go on a similar date. Nickyanka (as they are popularly known) will also sport the same outfits that they had worn for the occasion,” a source told DNA After Hrs.
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra will have two wedding receptions, one in Delhi and the other one in Mumbai for their industry friends. The reception in Delhi will be held at a five-star hotel but they are yet to zero in the date and the venue for the one in Mumbai. Buzz is that the couple may also invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their reception.
The guest list for the wedding includes PeeCee friends from the industry. Salman Khan and family, Ranbir Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Siddharth Roy Kapoor are some of the prominent names on the guest list. When Siddharth Roy Kapur was recently asked if he was invited to the wedding, he remained tight-lipped. "I'd rather speak about these things after they happen, rather than before," was all he was willing to tell IANS.
As far the bridal trousseau is concerned, Priyanka Chopra will wear an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla creation for her Indian ceremony and a Ralph Lauren ensemble for the Chrisitan wedding.
A source close to the couple informed the Sun, “Nick will wear ivory and Priyanka will be in red, while the bridesmaids will wear Ralph Lauren outfits for the Christian wedding because the couple wore the brand at their first public appearance together at the Met Gala last year. The festivities begin in the last week of November. They’re relishing every minute.” The maid of honour at the wedding will be Priyanka Chopra’s best friend Mubina Rattonsey, who had hosted her bridal shower in New York City last month.
