The latest name to be added in the list of wax statues at Madame Tussauds is none other than the lady who is up for global domination – Priyanka Chopra! Priyanka, a well-known Bollywood, and now, even Hollywood actress’ wax statue was unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York recently, and it is expanding to four other places - London, Sydney and Asia - too. This makes her the first global icon to have four Madame Tussauds statues, beating Whitney Houston, who has three wax statues at Madame Tussauds.
The actress was introduced to the wax statue (adapted from the Emmy Awards) which was, in reality, her wax twin. She went gasping on noticing the statue and like us, couldn’t believe the uncanny resemblance. Taking a closer look at it, Priyanka even posed like her wax statue and if there wasn’t a difference of clothes, we would’ve hardly been able to recognize the real Priyanka and the wax statue.
Not just Priyanka, Madame Tussauds New York boasts of having other wax statues of Bollywood celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan too. Katrina Kaif’s wax statue was also unveiled a while later and so was Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s. Apart from them, in the recent times, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Kajol and Anushka Sharma were also among the names whose statues were also unveiled at different locations.
Interestingly Priyanka, despite all her achievements, was the last person to get a Madame Tussauds wax statue. This happened after the actress got married in December last year to American pop singer Nick Jonas and officially became Mrs. Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
