Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has become one of the most sought-after directors in Indian cinema after showing unique storytelling and direction sensibilities in the Telugu romantic drama Arjun Reddy with excellent performance from Vijay Deverakonda. Vanga remade the 2017 film himself in Hindi as Kabir Singh in 2019.
The Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani-starrer earned Rs 278.80 crore net in India and Rs 377 crore gross wordwide, becoming the highest-grossing A-rated film in Bollywood. Now, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is awaiting the release of his next film set to hit the theatres on December 1. A gangster crime drama, Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor in a never seen before violent avatar.
Even before Animal's release, Vanga has already signed two films with two superstars in Telugu cinema, Spirit with the Baahubali star Prabhas and an untitled movie with the Pushpa star Allu Arjun. Both movies are being produced by Bhushan Kumar under his banner T-Series Films, which has also bankrolled Kabir Singh and Animal.
In a recent interview, Kumar shared big update about both the films, revealing when each of them will go to the floors. Speaking to Pinkvilla, he said, "After Animal, we will start Spirit after five to six months, and once we complete Spirit, it will be Allu Arjun's film." Talking about his collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Bhushan added, "We are a family now. He loves working with him, I love working with him. I give him full creative freedom, he and his brother are also partners with us (as producers).
"I always feel that a director should not only get his fees, but also get the benefit from the film's success at the box office or any other revenue platform. That way, we have a very comfortable relationship just like I have with Luv Ranjan and Anurag Basu, who have also been our long time collaborators", the T-Series' honcho added.
While Spirit was announced as Prabhas' 25th film in October 2021, Allu Arjun and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film was announced in March earlier this year. The release date of both the films haven't been decided yet.
