Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who recently returned to India after completion of his one-year long treatment in the UK, is now raring to get back to work. A latest report in Mumbai Mirror suggests that Irrfan, who is presently in Rajasthan for a personal commitment, is all set to kickstart the shooting for Homi Adjania's 'Hindi Medium 2' with 'Pataakha' actor Radhika Madan joining the cast as his daughter.
“Irrfan and Radhika started prep a while ago and are looking firward to kick off the first schedule in Rajasthan. It's an important portion after which they will take off for the international schedule," a source close to the development told the daily.
Further talking about the film's schedule, the source revealed, "It was initially planned to be set in the US but will now take place in London for which the team recently conducted a recce."
The Mumbai Mirror report further claimed that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been roped in to play the leading lady. The actress is likely to join the cast in London later in May after wrapping up Dharma Productions' 'Good News'. She'll wrap up the film before she begins filing Karan Johar's magnum opus 'Takht'.
Recently Mid Day had carried a report saying Kareena will be seen as a cop in 'Hindi Medium 2'. "While the film kicks off in April, Kareena will join the unit only by May-end during the London schedule. She will be seen as a cop in the satire," a source told the daily.
According to the report, Kareena loved the story and is rather excited to be a part of the satire as this is the first time when she has been approached to essay the role of a police officer in her film career spanning 19 years.
Now this brings us to the question whether Kareena has been roped in for a supporting role or whether she'll actually play Irrfan's love-interest in the film. Because, playing Irrfan's wife would also mean that Bebo will be essaying the role of Radhika Madan's mother on-screen, which we feel is highly unlikely. An official confirmation regarding this development is yet to be received from the producers' end.
Meanwhile, 'Hindi Medium 2' would be Irrfan’s first project after he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor in March 2018. He was last seen in 'Karwaan'.
Saket Chaudhary's 2017 hit 'Hindi Medium', starred Irrfan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in pivotal roles.
