Riama Sen reacts to her upcoming movie The Vaccine War being called propaganda.

Raima Sen is awaiting the release of her upcoming movie The Vaccine War. Since the film's trailer was released, it has been termed as a ‘jingoistic’ and propaganda film. Reacting to the same, the actress shared her views and said that she doesn’t care about it.

In a recent interview with Indian Express, Riama Sen talked about The Vaccine War being called ‘propaganda’ and the criticism around the film. The actress said, “As an actor, it really doesn’t matter to me. What is important is how my character is shaped. Whether It will get me anything and would lead to something? Of course, there are times when you do a film for a friend. But at this point in my career, I will do work that’s beneficial to me. I pick work selfishly. Honestly, it’s the perception of people, whether they call it jingoistic or propaganda or troll it, I really don’t care.”

The actress also revealed if her character in the film The Vaccine War is inspired by a journalist and said, “I am sure it is but only Vivek knows about it. However, I must add that if not a person, it definitely represents the section of people who felt this way. Vivek has done a lot of groundwork and he definitely has a reference point for all the characters.”

Helmed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Vaccine War stars Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, and Riama Sen. Touted as a true story, The Vaccine War tells the story of India’s battle to make their own vaccine to fight against Covid-19. The movie was earlier scheduled to clash with Prabhas’ Salaar on September 28, however, the film got postponed. Produced by Pallavi Joshi, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 28. Pallavi earlier revealed how they got the source material and said, “During the second wave (of Covid), many people lost lives, and it was a very bleak period. After the second wave, we got to know about the book of Dr Balram Bharagava, and it narrated the entire journey of how they developed the vaccine to fight Coronavirus. When Vivek read it, he came to me and said, 'This is amazing, you don't know what these scientists have done'.”
