Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna Raj Kapoor dies at 87

In May 1946, Raj Kapoor married Krishna Malhotra and the couple had five children -- three sons, Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv, and two daughters, Ritu and Rima.

Krishna Raj Kapoor, wife of legendary actor Raj Kapoor, passed away early on on Monday mornign, around 5 am, due to cardiac arrest. She was 87. "My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest...old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise," son Randhir Kapoor told PTI.

In May 1946, Raj Kapoor married Krishna Malhotra and the couple had five children -- three sons, Randhir, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor, and two daughters, Ritu Kapoor and Rima Kapoor. The last rites of Krishna Raj Kapoor will be performed at Chembur crematorium, Randhir further informed.

From Anupam Kher to Soha Ali Khan, tributes from Bollywood celebs have started pouring in on Twitter. 

Raveena Tandon took to Twitter to offer her condolences on the demise of Raj Kapoor's wife. "Condolences to the entire Kapoor family. An era passes away,#KrishnaRajKapoor .God give you strength, and may the soul rest in peace.  Om Shanti. @chintskap," she posted.

For the uninitiated, Krishna Raj Kapoor was the sister of renowned actors Rajendra Nath, Prem Nath and Narendra Nath. Her sister Uma is married to veteran actor Prem Chopra. May her soul RIP!
