Rishi and Randhir Kapoor's brother Rajiv Kapoor aka Chimpu passes away

Rajiv Kapoor, the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor passed away on February 9, 2021. Popularly known as Chimpu, his death has been confirmed by late actor Rishi's wife Neetu Kapoor on her Instagram page. She posted a photo of Rajiv and wrote, "RIP". Rajiv is popular for his role in father Raj Kapoor's last directorial Ram Teri Ganga Maili which released in 1985.

Rajiv has not only acted but he has been a director and a producer as well. He directed PremGranth starring Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit-Nene in the lead roles which released in 1996. He has also produced Henna, PremGranth and Aa Ab Laut Chalen.

Randhir Kapoor confirmed Rajiv's death to The Times of India by stating, "I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him. I am at the hospital, waiting for his body."

Kapoor family has been hearing tragic news from the past few years. Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna Raj Kapoor passed away in 2018. Soon after that, Ritu Nanda died in January 2020. Whereas Rishi Kapoor left for heavenly abode the same year. 

Rajiv Kapoor is the youngest son of Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. Along with Randhir and Rishi, he has two elder sisters Ritu Nanda (died) and Rima Jain.
