Sharing his views on the show being compared with Manoj Bajpayee-starrer, Rajkummar added, "Gangs of Wasseypur is about the rivalry between two gangs with a lot of action and violence, with romance and comedy. It's a cult film. But Guns and Gulaabs is very different from Gangs of Wasseypur. The only similarity is that the story is based on a small town, and it is loaded with action and comedy. But apart from that, it is treated very differently. The world and music are also extremely different. Gangs of Wasseypur is right up there, and this show will also be right up there."
