It seems Ranbir Kapoor's plans with Alia Bhatt will have to wait
After his break-up with Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor shifted to their family bungalow Krishna Cottage in Chembur to live with his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor. In 2016, after his bachelor pad 'Vastu' became ready to move in, the Kapoor scion shifted to his swanky abode in Pali Hill. Reports had it that the actor paid a whopping price of Rs 35 crore for the plush house.
Rishi Kapoor had then thanked Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan for putting in her best efforts to give a homely touch to his son’s new residence." “Vastu” Wonderful! Gauri Khan! You have made a home out of Ranbir’s house. Beautifully done! Both Neetu and me are overwhelmed. Thank you!,” Rishi had tweeted.
This was after Ranbir said that he will spend all his life with his parents. In 2014, speculation was rife that he was planning to move-in with his then girlfriend Katrina Kaif as his parents were not very comfortable with her visiting their house frequently.
A leading daily had qouted Ranbir's close friend as saying, "Since his father doesn't approve of her coming over to their house so regularly, Ranbir thought it would be best for him to find a new place so that everyone's privacy is respected."
However, Ranbir had later dismissed all such reports and said in an interview, "Where I am living currently, it is my family home, my father's home. It is going into redevelopment as we are making it bigger. So when this is happening, people can't stay in the house. I am very happy to live with my parents. I feel that I have my independence...and I feel very attached to my parents. So I don't have any plans of moving out and will spend all my life living with them"
Recently, it was being said that Ranbir is planning to move in with his current girlfriend, actor Alia Bhatt. The two were even spotted outside a real estate company's office in Mumbai. However as per a recent Asian Age report, Ranbir has postponed the plans for now. He has decided to move back in with his parents.
The newspaper qouted a friend of the actor as saying, “The recent circumstances (father Rishi Kapoor’s illness) has brought Ranbir close to his father. He wants to spend maximum time with his parents.”
In January, it was reported that Alia had paid double the asking price for a new home in Juhu, leading to speculation that the couple might be planning a future together. Alia was quick to dismiss these reports. She told Bollywood Hungama, “Nothing of the sort. It is a place I’ve bought as my office space. Yes, I’ve started my own production house. I’ve named it Eternal Sunshine Productions. Do you like it?”
Rishi went to US in 2018, and has been receiving medical attention in New York ever since. Ranbir and Alia have often visited him during his extended sabbatical in the Big Apple. Rishi has said that he is rearing to return to India and get back to work.
