Ranveer Singh is coming off the success of Padmaavat - his controversial collaboration with Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
On Saturday, he released the first look of his new movie Gully Boys with Alia Bhatt as his leading lady. He is also playing the lead in Kabir Khan's movie titled 83 that is based on Indian Cricket Team's triumph in 1983 World Cup.
Talking about being part of this new venture, Ranveer said that he is honoured to be telling this story and immortalising this on celluloid.
Ranveer said 83 is a story of human triumph.
"It is one of the most incredible underdog story. I am damn excited to work with Kabir Khan. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of my most favourite films of all time. I am excited to collaborate with him," he told IANS.
83 will follow the journey of Indian Cricket Team under the newly-appointed captain Kapil Dev that beat mighty West Indies team led by Clive Lloyd to lift the World Cup.
After Gully Boys and 83, Ranveer Singh will also be seen in Rohit Shetty's Simmba. Talking about the constantly changing palette, Ranveer said, "My current slate is another opportunity to showcase my versatility and in collaboration with finest filmmakers in the country. So right now I am going through a very rich creative phase and I am feeling blessed."
