Ranveer Singh has found the best way to beat Mumbai’s sweltering summer heat. He is heading to the cooler climes of Dharamshala. Of course, RS isn’t going there for fun.
Kabir Khan is starting intense preparation for his much-awaited film 83, in which the Gully Boy actor plays the legendary skipper Kapil Dev. Known as Kapil’s Devils, the Indian team shocked everyone by winning the cricket World Cup and defeating the mighty West Indies in the finals of the 1983 tournament. The filmmaker was clear that his cast members, who play the underdogs, should bond well before the movie goes on floors.
“The 1983 squad was a family that fought for each other and that’s why they lifted the World Cup and brought glory to India. Kapil led from the front and it was truly a unit that dared to dream under him. Kabir wanted his actors to train and live with each other before the shoot kick-starts. This one can be called Ranveer’s Devils! All of them are headed to Dharamshala for intense training. During their 15-day stay, they will stay together, do readings and also bond. Kabir wants his cast to truly become a team,” says a production source on condition of anonymity.
