The stunning beauty who mesmerised everyone with her beautiful smile and twinkle in her eyer was born in the year 1933. In her life spanning for just 36 years, Madhubala was known as the 'The Venus of  Indian Cinema' Her divine looks charmed audience in memorable films like Mahal (1949), Amar (1954), Mr and Mrs '55 (1955), Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958), Mughal-E-Azam (1960) and Barsaat Ki Raat (1960)  but her beauty was also captured by Hollywood magazines. 
 

"Madhubala lived a short life but achieved a lot in that short span of time. In those days, acting was not considered appropriate for women but with her remarkable acting skills and timeless beauty she created a mark for herself and is remembered with warmth till date,"Madhubala's sister Madhur Brij told PTI when her wax statue in her most admired character of 'Anarkali' from the 1960 classic Mughal-E-Azam was unveiled at Madame Tussauds museum. in Delhi.  As we remember Madhubala on her 85th birth anniversary, here's a look at 5 memorable songs which will prove she will always remain our true love. Asha Bhonsle and Madhubala combination gave us memorable songs lilke ‘Aaiye Meherbaan’, ‘Yeh Kya Kar Daala Tuney’ and‘Achha ji Main Haari Chalo Maan Jaao Na’. In one of the episode of The Golden Years: 1950-1975 Javed Akhtar had said, ,“Asha ji sang many lovely, beautiful songs for Madhubala. Perhaps it was Madhubala’s naughty smile, her coquettish behaviour, it used to go very well with Asha ji’s voice. Asha Bhonsle’s voice suited Madhubala perfectly.”

She debuted as a child artist in 1942 film Basant and was last seen in 1964 film, Sharabai. But till date, Madhubala continues to remain alive in the hearts of millions of fans.
