Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk, and Triptii Dimri-starrer Bad Newz has been released in the theatres this Friday, July 19. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions, the romantic comedy has received mixed reviews and has earned Rs 18.55 crore net in India in its first two days (as per the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk).
Karan Johar is often targeted for promoting star kids and is accused of nepotism. This time, the producer and director has given an opportunity to another star kid, who has worked behind the scenes as an intern assistant director on Bad Newz. She is Renee Sen, 24-year-old daughter of Sushmita Sen.
Renee took to her Instagram and shared photos with the director Anand Tiwari from the sets of the film and also from the movie's premiere in Mumbai. Along with the pictures, she shared her experience of working as the intern AD in a heartfelt note. Renee wrote, "Working on BAD NEWZ has been nothing short of gratifying, it was as good as going to film school or maybe better. Our wonderful crew has taught me so much and I’ve made friends for life. I'm so grateful to our director @anandntiwari! Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to you directing me someday @dimplemathias @bindraamritpal thank you for giving me such a great start. @_aman49 and our direction team, thank you so so much for teaching me and for all the memories, you’re an important part of my journey. Special mention to Reshma Shetty Ma’am for making this happen. We did it team!!! Cheers to the best BAD NEWZ."
Bad Newz revolves around the rare phenomenon of heteropaternal superfecundation, where twins are born to the same mother from two different fathers. It is the spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Good Newwz, which was also produced by Karan Johar and starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in the leading roles.
