Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Street Dancer 3D stars a number of popular choreographers and professional dancers such as Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande, Shakti Mohan and so on. But director Remo D’souza is all set to launch as many as 20 new dancers in this coming-of-age drama, which is based on the lives of street dancers. In an interview with After Hrs earlier, Varun had told us, “They are all real dancers and not actors portraying them. The performers are from different parts of the country — Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and many other states. It’s amazing that they are getting such a big platform to showcase their talent.”
When we asked Remo about the same, he said, “I believe in getting new talent on board and giving them a chance. I have done that earlier in ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013) and ABCD 2 (2015) as well.”
The director-choreographer and reality show judge adds that he gave some powerful dancers an opportunity and they have gone on to become stars now. “For Street Dancer 3D, too, I’m getting many new performers who are really talented. They will bring fresh energy to the movie. I picked up a few from the reality show I have judged, some I knew personally to be good dancers,” he divulges.
