I’ve been a street racer, says the actress

Jacqueline Fernandez has a lot to look forward to this year. The actress has Raj and DK’s action thriller Gentleman with Sidharth Malhotra, the first look for which releases this week, Tarun Mansukhani’s Drive opposite Sushant Singh

Rajput, David Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 opposite Varun Dhawan, and the big dance film with Salman Khan that will be directed by Remo D’Souza.

Of course, Jackie is thrilled about all her films, but she’s most gung-ho about Drive, thanks to all the stunts that she will be doing in the high-octane action flick. “Finally, people will see me do a lot of stunts and action sequences, which I’ve been dying to do,” she says excitedly.

Jackie plays a street racer in the film, and it turns out that the role is not too far removed from reality for her. The actress has been a street racer during her growing up years in Bahrain. “Street racing was pretty much our only pastime. My best friend and I used to get into rallies and we would be the only girls participating,” Jackie says, adding that they would zip across the streets and would pick up all signals through the course.

Priding herself for being a slick navigator, Jackie reveals, “Street racing is basically all about navigating well. On two occasions, we beat the guys in the race and came first.” Claiming to be a massive Formula One fan since those days, she says, “Bahrain was the first Gulf country to hold the Formula One Grand Prix in the Middle East, so I’ve never missed a race. When this role came to me, I felt this was so me because I have been a street racer. I’m going to kill it in Drive.”
