'Masterji', as Saroj Khan was often called, had gained fame back in the 80s after her collaboration with Sridevi. She choreographed the 'Main Naagin Tu Sapera' song from Sridevi's Nagina, and later, went on to work on the iconic song 'Hawa Hawai' from 'Mr. India'.

It was after 'Hawa Hawai' (a name which was stuck with Sridevi), that Saroj Khan worked on various films with Madhuri Dixit. The 1992 'Beta' song 'Dhak Dhak' was proof that Madhuri and Saroj Khan would work together a long way. Two years later, they found 'Chane Ke Khet Mein', a song which stuck with them for the longest time.

Co-incidentally Saroj Khan's last song was also with Madhuri Dixit. Khan had choreographed 'Tabah Ho Gaye', which was part of the 2019 film 'Kalank'. Directed by Karan Johar, the movie featured Madhuri, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
