Sachin Tendulkar's much awaited biopic, Sachin: A Billion Dreams finally hit the theatres on May 26. Though the movie failed to live up to the claims of its makers (that it will surpass the collections of Baahubali 2), the docu-drama has done pretty well considering that it's not a feature film.
The biopic has managed to rake in impressive number by the end of its first week run at the ticket windows. On Thursday, it collected Rs 2.40 crore taking the total earnings to be Rs 41.20 crore.

Friday: Rs 8.60 crore,
Saturday: Rs 9.20 crore,
Sunday: Rs 10.25 crore,
Monday: Rs 4.20 crore,
Tuesday: Rs 3.50 crore,

With Sachin being a pan-India hero and having an immense fan following throughout the country, the docu-drama has now become the highest opener and highest opening weekend grosser for a movie in the genre.
