Saif acquitted because Taimur threatened judge: Twitter reacts to Salman Khan's guilty verdict in blackbuck case

Bollywood star Salman Khan is accused of killing two black bucks, an endangered species, in the Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1, 1998 during the shooting of film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.  Now as per recent reports, Salman has been convicted by the Jodhpur court while Saif, Tabu and Sonali have been acquitted of all charges.  The court announced that the actor would get five years for the killing, as well as a fine of Rs 10,000.

The other four actors — Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu — are co-accused in the 19-year-old case and charged with abetment to poaching. They have been charged under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

For the uninitiated, hearing in the case had been completed on March 28 and CJM Devkumar Khatri had set April 5 as the date to pronounce verdict.

Final arguments of the case were completed in the trial court on March 28, after which Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved his judgment.
