Saif Ali Khan opens up on his Netflix original web series 'Sacred Games'

The actor spills the beans about his first web series...

Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen in a Netflix original series titles Sacred Games. As per reports, the web series is based on the critically acclaimed novel by Indian author Vikram Chandra.

Saif's character is called Sartaj Singh. The show is set against the backdrop of organized crime, corruption, politics and espionage scene in Mumbai. The story is said to encompass the lives of the elite, the famous and the bloodthirsty.

In an interview given to MidDay, Saif opened up about why he gave a nod for the web series. He was quoted as saying, "I think web content is really powerful and that's where we all need to be. Television has a lot of restrictions. Web content, on the other hand, is devoid of any kind of censorship. It's a free environment." 

Explaining what excites him about the show, he said,""I am excited about the quality and content of our show. The book was fantastic and I hope we can do justice to it. We have an amazing team. I am looking forward to start this new venture."

The actor was also seen hosting the recently concluded IIFA awards 2017, with Karan Johar at MetLife Stadium in New York. The duo had a blast and kept the audience entertained.
