Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Sacred Games

After Hrs had earlier reported that the second season will go on floors in November.

The first season of Sacred Games starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui has received applause. However, while the critics have given the crime saga a thumbs up, the story seems to be different when it comes to viewership numbers. Says a trade source, “Sacred Games was made on a huge budget, but its viewership has been limited. As a result, it has not been able to bring in the numbers it was expected to.”

Another trade source adds, “The OTT platform, which backed the project, has decided to meet the makers of the show. They reportedly want to re-evaluate the budget before starting the second season.”

After Hrs had earlier reported that the second season will go on floors in November.  When we got in touch with Saif and Nawaz’s representatives, they told us, “The shoot couldn’t begin this month  because Nawaz and Saif are busy with their respective projects. Nawaz starts Motichoor Chaknachoor in a few days and has a film with Rajinikanth lined up next. On the other hand, Saif still has 15 days of work left on Navdeep Singh’s Hunter. He begins shooting for another movie soon after. They will be able to fit in dates for Sacred Games 2 only after mid-November.”
