Saiyami Kher dropped a video of her throwing Gadar's iconic handpump in Ghoomer's style and made a statement that highlighted the lack of support for women-centric films.

Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar 2 continues to make box office history even in its third week. With over Rs 400 crores, Gadar 2 has made a strong impact at the box office. Released on August 11, Gadar 2 has surpassed and exceeded box office expectations.

A week after Gadar 2, Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher's sports drama Ghoomer was released on August 18. R Balki's directorial earned positive critical responses, but sadly the film was affected due to the typhoon of Gadar 2. Ghoomer failed to collect one crore on its opening day, and the film showed no improvement in the following week. Now, as Ghoomer completed a week at the box office. Ghoomer's leading star Saiyami dropped a video, shedding light on the prevailing dearth of support for women-oriented stories in the Indian film industry. In the video, Saiyami paid homage to the memorable hand pump scene from Gadar. Saiyami pulled out the pump, only to toss it away in a Ghoomer-style. In the end, Saiyami made a statement, "Ladkiyaan bhi Hindustan ko jita sakti hai."

As Sacnilk reported, Ghoomer collected only Rs 4.97 crore in its first week. The climax scene of Ghoomer, where Abhishek Bachchan does a little victory dance is ideated by Aaradhya Bachchan. Talking about it, filmmaker R Balki told Bollywood Spy in an interview, “It was a very beautiful moment for me in our film. I am happy we managed to capture it, and obviously thanks to the people behind it who came up with the idea as well." Not only Gadar 2, but also Akshay Kumar, and Pankaj Tripathi's OMG 2 has also affected Ghoomer's business.
