The superhit jodi of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, who have appeared in several films such as Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya (2005), Partner (2007), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), will return to entertain audiences this Eid, with Bharat. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, which is a remake of the 2014 Korean film Ode To My Father, opens in cinemas on June 5. The movie, which chronicles the journey of a man and a nation named Bharat, sees the titular character’s journey from a kid to an old man. The Race 3 actor’s various looks have already piqued the curiosity of movie buffs.
However, we have now learnt that Salman and Kat, who share a great rapport, will apparently lock horns with each other next Eid. While the former will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah opposite Alia Bhatt, the latter will reportedly play Akshay Kumar’s love interest in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryanvanshi, which will also open in cinemas on the festive occasion.
A source says, “If this happens, it will be a win-win situation for the audience as they will be spoilt for choice and can look forward to not one but two star-studded films during Eid. But it will be interesting to see how the stand-off between Sallu and Kat pans out, considering both the actors are close friends.” Akshay and Kat, too, are a formidable pair who have delivered hits such as Namaste London (2007), Singh is Kinng (2008) and De Dana Dan (2009), to name a few. If they reunite for Sooryavanshi, then they will be seen together on screen after a decade. Their last outing as a lead pair was Tees Maar Khan (2010).
