Salman Khan is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming spy thriller Tiger 3. The actor was recently seen launching the trailer of Gippy Grewal’s Punjabi film Maujan Hi Maujan. During the event, the actor called Rs 100 crore as the new benchmark for films.
A video from the trailer launch of Gippy Grewal’s Maujaan Hi Maujaan is going viral on social media wherein he said that minting Rs 100 crore has now become ‘rock bottom’ for films. Salman Khan said, “I think the ₹100 crore mark is going to be the rock bottom now. Everything would be ₹400-500-600 plus now for the Punjabi industry, Hindi industry, every industry.”
The actor further added, “Even Marathi films are doing these numbers. ₹100 crore is not going to be a very big deal. I think the benchmark should be ₹1000 crore for a film right now.”
Helmed by Smeep Kang, Maujaan Hi Maujaan stars Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Tanu Grewal, Karamjit Anmol, Jimmy Sharma, and Harsheen Chauhan among others in key roles. The film tells the story of three brothers and one sister who find love. They have to face stigma due to their disabilities. The Punjabi film is scheduled to release on October 20 in theatres.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which failed to perform well at the box office. The actor is now awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Tiger 3. The much-anticipated spy thriller is helmed by Maneesh Sharma and also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. Not only this, Shah Rukh Khan will also be seen making an action-packed cameo in the movie. The film is scheduled for a festive release this Diwali (November 12). Salman Khan will also be seen hosting the new season of Bigg Boss, the promo impressed netizens who are eagerly waiting for the new season.
