Sanju box office: Ranbir Kapoor-Rajkumar Hirani film is UNSTOPPABLE, crosses Rs 200 crore mark in 7 days

Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor's Dutt biopic continues to be on a roll as 'Sanju' rakes in over Rs 200 crore in just 7 days of its release.

Last Friday saw the release of much-awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic. Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani teamed up for the first time with 'Sanju' and the box office collection scream out audiences' love for the film.

'Sanju' has been breaking box office records right from the Day 1 of its release and in just 7 days the film has managed to cross the 200 crore mark. This Rajkumar Hirani film which also stars Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anushka Sharma in lead roles has earned Rs 16.10 crore on Thursday making its total earnings as Rs 202.51 crores in week one.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to confirm the box office mathematics and wrote, “#Sanju is 200 NOT OUT… Has an EXTRAORDINARY Week 1… Crosses *lifetime biz* of #3Idiots [₹ 202.47 cr] in 7 days… Fri 34.75 cr, Sat 38.60 cr, Sun 46.71 cr, Mon 25.35 cr, Tue 22.10 cr, Wed 18.90 cr, Thu 16.10 cr. Total: 202.51 cr. India biz.”

'Sanju' has become Ranbir Kapoor's biggest hit of his career so far as the film has beaten Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' earnings. While Aamir Khan's film based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat earned Rs 197.54 crore in 7 days, Ranbir Kapoor's Dutt biopic has earned Rs 202. 51 crores. 'Sanju' is also at par with SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' Hindi version crossed 200 crore mark on Day 6 of its release, Salman Khan's 'Tiger Zinda Hai' earned over Rs 206 crores in a week. 

Not just Ranbir Kapoor's fabulous performance in the role of Dutt has got a thumbs up from the audience and critics alike, Vicky Kaushal as his BFF and Paresh Rawal in the role of Sunil Dutt has melted audience's hearts.

After resurrecting Sanjay Dutt's career with Munnabhai MBBS in 2003, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani also ended Ranbir Kapoor's dry spell at the box office.
