Gulshan Grover, who has done several films with Sanjay Dutt, is known to share a close friendship with the actor. Interestingly, after the trailer of Sanju, the biopic on Sanjay Dutt was launched and pictures of Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the Saajan and Khalnayak superstar, along with Vicky Kaushal were out, several people have been asking whether the Bollywood Bad Man is being essayed by the Raazi actor. From airports to functions and even awards shows, Gulshan has people walking up to him and asking him if Vicky is playing him in Sanju. On his part, GG says, “I don’t know till I see the film.”
The other day, when he was returning to Mumbai, Ranbir, who was also on the same flight, told him that he would invite him for the screening. Gulshan, who plans to watch the film first day first show, says, “Not because I want to see if I’m being portrayed by Vicky Kaushal, but because the movie is about my brother Sanjay Dutt. And in the many lives he has lived, I have been by his side as a positive influence in a few of them.”
Incidentally, he recalled laughing with Rishi Kapoor the night before while talking about an incident from his biography, in which he and Sanjay went to the 102 Not Out actor’s house to assault him because of a misunderstanding. Talking of Sanju, Gulshan sums up saying, “My only worry is that I may make a spectacle of myself by crying a lot, seeing on screen what my brother Sanju went through.”
