Not many know that Aamir Khan was approached to play the part of Sunil Dutt in the Sanjay Dutt biopic...

Rajkumar's Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt titled Sanju has been grabbing the eyeballs ever since it went on floors. The film, which chronicles the life and times of Sanjay Dutt, has Ranbir Kapoor portraying the Munnabhai MBBS actor. Apart from Ranbir's jaw-dropping transformation for the role of Sanjay Dutt, the film has also become the talk of the town especially after the release of its teaser. While we're looking forward to the trailer of the film, not many are aware of the fact that Aamir Khan was also supposed to be a part of Sanju. The Dangal actor was approached to play Ranbir Kapoor's father on screen, i.e., Sanjay Dutt's father Sunil dutt in the film but Aamir had refused the part post which it went to Paresh Rawal.

Nobody knew why Aamir refused to play Sunil Dutt in Sanju, especially, since he has already worked with Rajkumar Hirani in PK. Now, Raju Hirani himself has spillled the beans on the real reason why Aamir  couldn't come on board for the project.

In an interview with Outlook, Raju shared, "Aamir is a friend. Any script I write, I bounce it to him. When I narrated Sanju to him, he loved it and said, ‘Main bhi kuch karta hoon (I should also do something in it).’ Then I said, do this (Sunil Dutt’s role). But he was already doing the role of an elderly man in Dangal (2016) around the same time.” So that's why Aamir had to let the role of Sunil Dutt in Sanju pass.

Meanwhile, the teaser of Sanju has been gathering amazing reactions from the fans. The makers plan to launch the trailer later this month and the film is slated to hit the theatres on June 29.
