Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra have teamed up for Amit Sharma’s Badhaai Ho. Interestingly, Ayushmann’s brother Aparshakti had played Sanya’s bhai in Dangal. When asked about his experience of working with Sanya, the Shubh Mangal Savdhaan hero said, “She is closer to my brother than me. They are great friends. In fact, she told me that working with me is like working with Aparshakti! She was used to my humour because it’s similar to his. We could also connect because she, too, is from Delhi and has a similar upbringing like mine. Even her take on music is the same.”
As an actress, Ayushmann is impressed with the films that she has chosen to do. “Sanya is doing a Ritesh Batra film (Photographer), Badhai Ho and Patakha with Vishal Bhardwaj. All these are concept-driven films with meaningful subjects. They are the kind of films that I endorse, so we even have a similar mindset,” he smiled.
