Two superstars starring together in a film is a huge deal for the fans. Many of them have expressed their desire to see Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar share the screen space and no filmmaker could fulfill it in past two decades. SRK and Akshay were seen together in 1997 blockbuster Dil To Pagal Hai though they hardly had any scenes together. Then they went on to share screen space in the song Mast Kalandar from Akshay's movie Heyy Babyy released in the year 2007. After almost 12 years, we might get to see the superstars in a full-fledged film together.
As per reports, the makers of Malayalam hit film Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel are planning to rope in SRK and Akshay for the Hindi remake of the flick. The original film starred Dileep, Mamta Mohandas and Priya Anand in the lead roles and it released in February 2019. Talking about the same, the director of Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel, Unnikrishnan stated to a website, "Viacom (the production company) is considering remaking the movie and discussions are in the initial stages. We are talking to both Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan for starring in the movie."
In Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel, Dileep's character is shown as a lawyer who stammers. The film received a good response from the audience and also went on to become a box office hit.
When Shah Rukh was earlier asked about working with Akshay in a film, he had quoted, "It will be fun to act with Akshay. Dono set pe hi nahin milenge. Woh jaa raha hoga aur main aa raha hounga (laughs) (He’ll be leaving the set and I’ll be coming in). I would like to work like Akshay and with him, but our timings won’t match."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay will next be seen in Anurag Singh's Kesari which is slated to release during Holi weekend this year.
