Shahid spoke to many students from a Delhi college and since the look was unpolished, he was keen on using clothes from their actual wardrobe to make it more believable

When Shahid Kapoor made his debut as a fresh-faced college boy in Ishq Vishq (2003), the actor was hailed as the next chocolate hero on the block. He has since then evolved into a man with movies like Kaminey (2009) and Haider (2014) to his credit. So now, when years later, the actor is all set to play a college student again in Kabir Singh, he is far from a ‘boy’. He is ‘kadak’, ‘dhaansu’ and the ‘hottest actor’ according to some of the comments left on his social media account, after the teaser of the Hindi remake of the South blockbuster Arjun Reddy was revealed some time ago.

Shahid, who tries to get into the skin of the character as much as he can, didn’t leave any stone unturned to essay the role of a medical aspirant who turns into an angst-driven alcoholic surgeon on a self-destructive path. Apart from transforming his body for the two looks, which he sports in the film, we hear, the star also smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, a habit that he doesn’t endorse.

Sources reveal that another prep exercise involved spending a lot of time with youngsters and even borrowing their outfits for his role. Says a source, “Shahid spoke to many students from a Delhi college and since the look was unpolished, he was keen on using clothes from their actual wardrobe to make it more believable.”
