Actor Sidharth Malhotra issued a statement hours after his fan claimed about getting duped of Rs 50 lakhs for obtaining information about his well-being and his relationship with actress wife Kiara Advani. On his social media, Sidharth penned a note, and informed that, "I want to assure everyone reading this that neither I nor my family or team support any of this."
The statement reads, "It has been brought to my attention that certain fraudulent activities/scams have been circulating on various social media platforms, allegedly claiming to be associated with or in relation to me, my family and people claiming to be my fans and seeking money. I want to assure everyone reading this that neither I nor my family or team support any of this. I urge all of you to exercise caution when dealing with such matters. If you receive any suspicious requests, report them to the appropriate authorities and avoid spreading false information. My fans have always been my biggest strength and your trust and safety are my top priorities."
On Thursday, a person named Minoo posted screenshots on X, showing that a fan page accused Sidharth Malhotra's wife, actor Kiara Advani, of pressuring him into marrying her. The Twitter user, @desi_girl334, penned, "Dear @sidmalhotra & all Sidians, My name is Minoo Vasudevan from USA. There is a serious incident you all should know about admins Aliza & Husna Parveen, @sidmalhotra.updates. Between October 2023 to December 2023, they stole 50 lakhs from me. Between October 18th-24th 2023, they stole 10.5K rupees from my friend in UK, Maariya. Disclaimer: Some chats & evidence during this time have been deleted. However, I have crucial ones as evidence."
Minoo added, "I paid them weekly charges to get inside info & speak with Sid. Also, I bought Sid 3 gift hampers, which I found out were photoshopped. Apart from this, expenses were made to save Sid from death or torture. All this led to a loss of 50 lakhs."
Sidharth and Kiara got married on February 7, 2023, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. They had previously acted together in the 2021 film Shershaah, directed by Vishnuvardhan.
