Rohit Shetty's latest offering Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the leads is the perfect example of how to end the year in style. The film has become a smashing hit soon after its release on December 28, 2018. In just nine days Simmba has managed to rake in a total of Rs 173.15 crore at the box office. The movie is breaking records left right and centre and is all set to become Ranveer Singh's second highest grosser surpassing the collections of Bajirao Mastani.

With this, Simmba has become the fourth highest grossing Hindi film of 2018 so far. The movie stands at number four after Sanju (Rs 341 crore), Padmaavat (Rs 300 crore), 2.0 (Rs 191 crore).
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the box office figures of Simmba. He wrote, "#Simmba is ruling the BO... Witnesses superb growth on second Sat... Expected to collect bigger numbers today... Will emerge Ranveer’s second highest grosser today, surpassing #BajiraoMastani... [Week 2] Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 13.32 cr. Total: ₹ 173.15 cr. India biz."
The action entertainer is a remake of South hit Temper. Simmba marks the second film of Sara Ali Khan and the first film of Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh. The actor-director duo had earlier collaborated for the TVCs of a noodle brand.
Simmba is riding high on an extremely positive word of mouth. The film has been appreciated by the audience and the critics alike.
