New mother and Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan is caught with her motherly duties and is not yet ready to take up a full feature film as she has resolved to give her eight and a half-month-old daughter Inaaya as much care and tending as possible.
Soha who was last seen in 2016 film Ghayal Returns is adamant on giving her baby girl a year of her life before taking up projects which demand more of her time. She also said that once her daughter grows up she will dedicate more time to work.
Speaking on the same lines, the actress told IANS, "To do a feature film is a big-time commitment and I made that personal decision to give Inaaya a year of my life with as much attention as possible. I thought when she is old enough, I will take on more work. The thing is, she is eight and a-half-months now and is ready, but I am not."
It is not just work that Soha Ali Khan can't take up. She is unable to catch-up on the new film releases. So much so that Soha has not yet been able to watch sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan's film 'Veere Di Wedding' which has caused an uproar in the fraternity.
"I haven't watched it and again, that I blame everything on Inaaya, its great but I do want to see it," Soha was quoted as saying.
However, the 'Rang De Basanti' actress somehow managed to shoot for Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3' in which she will be seen next. While speaking about her experience in the film, Soha told IANS, "He (Tigmanshu) called me last year in October and asked what I was doing, I replied that 'I am busy in October as I am having a child' so obviously it was difficult for me to do a movie but they managed to use my character towards the end of the film."
"I can step away for short periods of time and I didn't realize it is only going to become more difficult to step away and its never enough time," she added.
Daughter Inaaya keeps mummy Soha busy at home as well because of which she is unable to look after herself much. She says that she looks very different at home, unlike how we see her at parties.
"I don't look after myself after becoming a mother but for events, I am all dressed up with makeup and stuff. If you look at me in my house, I am not properly dressed and my hair is not done properly."
But husband Kunal Khemu, mother Sharmila Tagore and in-laws make sure to remind her how important her health is, especially for Inaaya's well being. She gives them due credit and says, "Luckily, in my life, there are people like my husband, mother and in-laws who remind me to look after myself because if I fall sick, then it will have huge consequences on Inaaya so, it is very important to look after yourself and also important to be hygienic, clean and healthy which I have understood."
Apart from Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Soha Ali Khan has two more things on her plate. A short film made by Soha, titled Sound Proof shall release in India after touring international film festival. Soha and Kunal will produce a biopic on lawyer Ram Jethmalani soon. They are working on its making.
